We are thrilled to announce our participation in the "La Voz de Mi Gente" voter registration campaign in collaboration with the Hispanic Federation! This initiative is a crucial step towards ensuring that every voice in our community is heard and represented.
Our recent efforts took us to the Cumberland County Fair, where we joined hands with Comunidad Vida Nueva to make a difference. The atmosphere was alive with the rich culture of our community—imagine the smell of empanadas sizzling on the grill, the sight of elotes preparados, and the joy of everything-on-a-stick. It was the perfect backdrop to connect with our neighbors on how voting can be a tool for change.
A Successful Day at the Cumberland County Fair
Our day at the fair was filled with meaningful conversations, addressing concerns and listening to stories. With the help of dedicated volunteers and partners, we were able to register 32 new voters! Each person registered represents a new voice ready to contribute to the democratic process.

Why is Voter Registration Important?
Voting is a fundamental right and a powerful way for communities to influence policies that directly affect our lives. By registering to vote, you are taking the first step toward making your voice heard on issues that matter—whether it’s healthcare, education, immigration, or local governance. However, many in our community face barriers to voting, from language obstacles to a lack of awareness about how to register or where to vote. That's why campaigns like "La Voz de Mi Gente" are vital—they empower individuals by providing accessible voter registration and education.
Thank You to Our Partners
A special thank you goes to Comunidad Vida Nueva for their partnership and support. Their dedication to uplifting our community is inspiring, and together, we are stronger. We also want to extend our gratitude to everyone who stopped by our booth, whether to register, ask questions, or show their support.

What We’re Doing Next: Nuestro Plan
Our work doesn’t stop here! The "La Voz de Mi Gente" campaign has a clear action plan for the coming months to ensure we keep building momentum:
1. Community Voter Registration Drives: We will be hosting more voter registration booths at local events and community gatherings. Our goal is to make voter registration as accessible as possible by bringing it directly to where people are—whether that’s a festival, a local market, or a community center.
2. Workshop/ Educational Session: Understanding the voting process is key. We’ll be organizing a workshop in collaboration with Hispanic Federation to educate our community on everything from understanding ballots to knowing where and how to vote. Stay connected to learn about this workshop.
3. Outreach to Young and First-Time Voters: We believe that engaging younger generations is crucial for sustained civic participation. We’ll be reaching out to schools, colleges, and youth organizations to encourage young people to register and vote for the first time.
4. Accessible Resources and Support: Not everyone knows where to start, and that’s okay! We’ll be distributing easy-to-follow guides on voter registration, polling locations, and how to research candidates and issues. Our team is here to help answer any questions and provide support.
Join the Movement!
We need your help to keep this momentum going. Here’s how you can get involved:
- Volunteer with Us: Help us at upcoming registration drives and events.
- Spread the Word: Share this campaign with your friends, family, and neighbors. Let them know how important their vote is.
- Register to Vote: If you haven’t registered yet, what are you waiting for? We can help you get started!
